"Tekojalkatalo" / ''The Fake Leg House'' [FIN / ENG]

Pohjois-suomalainen kesä heinäkuussa, aurinko paistoi joten oli erinomainen sää kuvausretkelle. Kohteena muutama päivä aikaisemmin vahingossa löydetty autiotalo ja ulkorakennukset. Jonkinlainen tienpohja oli vielä näkyvissä, joten kohteeseen meneminen sujui vaivattomasti.

It's the middle of the summer in Northern Finland. The sun is shining; what an excellent weather for some exploring. We had found the location a few days earlier by accident, it was an ordinary, abandoned house with some outbuildings. An old, barely visible road still remained, which made accessing the location quite easy.

  

Perillä odotti puinen päärakennus, saunarakennus, mahdollisesti navettarakennus, ehkä puuliiteri ja oudoin kaikista oli vanha puinen junanvaunu, joka oli ilmeisesti ollut jonkinlaisena varastotilana. Vaunu oli jo aika huonossa kunnossa, osittain romahtanut, ovi oli auki ja jäljistä päätellen joku oli harrastanut jonkinlaista ammuntaa oveen. Sisällä oli lehtiä, vanhoja pulloja, ruukkuja, tekojalka ja siihen soviteosia ja jotain muuta epämääräistä tavaraa.

As we arrived at the scene, a wooden main building, a sauna, a building that could have possibly been a barn and a shed were waiting for us. The most peculiar building, however, was an old, wooden train carriage, which had apparently been used as a storage space of some kind. The carriage was in a bad shape, it was partly collapsed. The door was wide open and, judging by the holes on it, someone had been practising their shooting skills there. Inside we could see old magazines, bottles, pots and a prosthetic leg with a bag filled with parts of it, along with other miscellaneous items. 

Päärakennuksen ovi oli laitettu lukolla kiinni, joten sisään ei päässyt kuvaamaan ja kun verhotkin oli kiinni, niin otimme vain ulkopuolen kuvia. Paikalle oli jo sen verran kasvanut heinää ja puitakin, että siellä ei todennäköisesti ole kukaan asunut vuosiin. Eikä paikalla näyttänyt käyneen muita vierailijoita, joten kohde oli hyvin säilyttänyt alkuperäisen kuntonsa. Lähdimme paikalta hyvällä mielellä, pohjoisen suomen kaunis kesäilta takasi, että saimme kohteesta hyviä kuvia.

The front door of the house had been locked, so taking photos from the inside was impossible. As the curtains were closed, we settled for photographing the outside only. So much weeds and trees had grown around the house that no living soul has probably inhabited the place in several years. No other people seemed to have visited either, so the location had maintained its original condition. We left the scene satisfied and the beautiful northern summer evening made sure that our pictures turned out excellent.
